A small community of Tamil typographers is currently reverse-engineering MCL Valluvan to release a Unicode-compliant version called Valluvan U . This version would retain the original glyph shapes but map them correctly to the Unicode standard (U+0B80 to U+0BFF). Once released, this would allow the font to be used on websites and mobile apps legally and practically.
