This is the most cathartic for a specific segment of the audience. The protagonist realizes that family is a toxin. They walk away. They change their name. They move across the country. The final shot is the protagonist breathing free air, while the family home burns (metaphorically or literally) behind them.
The table is set. The knives are sharp. And the drama is always, always hereditary.
Nothing lights a fuse like the sibling who left coming back. This character has "escaped" the family system. They speak differently, dress differently, and have therapists. Their return forces the siblings who stayed behind to confront their own cowardice. "You think you're better than us?" is the battle cry.
