The narrative follows Bob Lee Swagger, a former Marine scout sniper who has retreated to the seclusion of the Wyoming mountains after a botched secret mission in Ethiopia. His self-imposed exile is interrupted by Colonel Isaac Johnson , played by Danny Glover, who recruits Swagger under the guise of preventing an assassination attempt on the President of the United States.
