USB device virtualization over IP networks is a critical function for enterprise virtualization, remote access, and industrial control systems. This paper examines Eltima USB Network Gate (formerly USB over Ethernet) version 10.0.2450, focusing on its protocol efficiency, cross-platform compatibility (Windows, Linux, macOS), USB isochronous transfer support (for webcams/audio devices), and security mechanisms (TLS 1.3, USB device whitelisting). Performance benchmarks show that version 10.0.2450 achieves near-native throughput for bulk devices (printers, storage) with ≤2ms added latency on a Gigabit LAN. The “Multilingual” feature enhances enterprise deployability. However, real-time devices (high-FPS cameras) exhibit jitter beyond 15ms, limiting use in precision time-sensitive applications.
