In India, women have traditionally been associated with domestic roles, taking care of the family, and managing household chores. The concept of "Grihini" (housewife) has been deeply ingrained in Indian society, where women's primary responsibility is to care for their families and ensure their well-being. While this role is still prevalent, many Indian women are now breaking free from these traditional expectations, pursuing careers, and becoming independent.

The is a work in progress. It is the sight of a woman in a Navratri chaniya choli dancing to a Garba remix that samples Cardi B. It is the sound of temple bells mixing with the Teams meeting notification. It is the smell of ghee (clarified butter) and sanitizer.

If you visit an Indian home, thank the woman of the house not just for the food, but for the environment —the clean floors, the fresh flowers, and the warm welcome.
