While Heat the Soul 1 is definitely showing its age (the roster is tiny compared to HTS 6 or 7), the core fighting mechanics are still fun. It’s fast, flashy, and captures the anime’s art style perfectly. If you’ve ignored this game because you couldn't read Japanese, this "best" English patch fixes the only real problem the game had. Highly recommended for fans who want to see where the series started!

The story mode is short, but being able to read the dialogue adds emotional weight to the Ichigo vs. Renji/Zaraki fights. Highly recommended for fans who want to see
